Video: Noveller at Signal Gallery for opening of MIRRORS

Watch video from the Noveller performance on January 24th at the opening of Tim Bruniges' MIRRORS exhibition at Signal Gallery in Brooklyn.  MIRRORS is a site-specific installation composed of two 9 foot x 9 foot concrete sound mirrors facing each other at opposing ends of the gallery space.  For my performance, we positioned my guitar amp facing one of the sound mirrors so that the microphone placed at the center of the structure would pickup the sound of my guitar and project it along with the ambient sound of the space through the quadrophonic speaker system setup in the gallery.  from Tim Bruniges on Vimeo.

MP3: Lee Ranaldo & Noveller ‘Live at Roulette’

I’m very excited to finally make available to the public this recording of my collaborative set with Lee Ranaldo at Roulette in NYC on March 11th, 2011.  Lee is one of my all-time favorite guitarists and it was an amazing experience improvising with him.  The recording is approximately 42 minutes long and you can listen to and purchase it as a digital album on Bandcamp.

Noveller touring with Radiolab this Fall

This fall, I will be touring with my favorite radio program, Radiolab, providing a live score for their live stage performance.  I will be joined on stage by On Fillmore, a duo consisting of bassist Darin Gray and drummer Glenn Kotche (of Wilco).  About Apocalyptical: “Cataclysmic destruction. Surprising survival. In this new live stage performance, Radiolab turns its gaze to the topic of endings, both blazingly fast and agonizingly slow. With their signature blend of storytelling, science, and music, hosts Jad Abumrad and Robert Krulwich romp through hundreds of millions of years of history to arrive at the end, again and again.”
